After graduation she taught applied piano in the Utah State University piano department and the USU Youth Conservatory for 10 years. She served on the committee for selecting curriculum for the Conservatory and was an adjunct faculty member at Utah State University. . She is active as a clinician, adjudicator, and performer. Kathleen is an active clinician, performer and adjudicator and is a member and former president of her local chapter of the Music Teacher's National Association. A favorite memory is when she played second piano with Claude Frank, when he performed a Mozart concerto. She received her Bachelor of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy at Utah State University where she studied with Gary Amano.
