Brian said Visually interesting, but very thin.. This is a visually interesting atlas with some nice plates including several period maps. Excluding the contents and indices, it's only Visually interesting, but very thin. This is a visually interesting atlas with some nice plates including several period maps. Excluding the contents and indices, it's only 36 pages, so it doesn't provide much detail on any way. There are a few helpful modern overview maps and decent summary narratives. The down side is that there are very few battle maps, which is what I was looking for when I bought the book. For example, there are period maps of Washington and Baltimore, but none showing the siege lines, troop movements, etc.Overall, it's kind of nice to have, but it isn't the atlas I was looking for.. 6 pages, so it doesn't provide much detail on any way. There are a few helpful modern overview maps and decent summary narratives. The down side is that there are very few battle maps, which is what I was looking for when I bought the book.
