The whole introduction could have been summarized in a paragraph or two. The Himalayan eperience is totally irrelevant to the story. And then, numerous points were not clarified. For instance, how did the book get out of the hotel room? Or, how did Thomas and Miriam actually part? Etc. If I had been the copy editor, I would have had some serious discussions with the author.. Lourds believes the ancient text offer clues to a mystery at the Scholar's Rock Temple in the Himalayas.His Israeli colleague Lev Strauss asks him to come to Jerusalem to decipher a find in Cairo that the former believes leads to where Mohammad hid his handwritten original Koran. However, as Lourds arrives in Israel, assassins kill Strauss. This is the third book in the series I've read and I highly recommend it. The action is non-stop and the plot of the novel is a very timely one having to do with the middle east and Iran. The lead character is on the run from page one until the end. I really like a good chase thriller. THE ATLANTIS code by this author was his first novel in the series and was a great launching pad for those that followed. I also think the jacket of this novel is stunning.
