I found the beginning slightly slow but was soon drawn in. At the point this adventure takes a dark turn, it became one of the most gripping pieces of writing I've read in a long time. I loved this book!I was hooked by chapter 2. It’s not my usual genre and maybe that’s why it didn’t pull me in straight away but soon enough it got its claws in me. Unless they’re feeling particularly brave, I think it proves fantasy is not just for kids.The author keeps you wondering where the story is going and I found myself willing Kalathos to prove the gods wrong at every opportunity.The book is very well written with wonderful, vivid descriptions that conjure up the image of this dark mythological Greece and all the creatures and characters in it.
