It's a must have book!I am truly smitten with this book, written by George Pail and illustrated by Franfou. The story looks like aan everyday story, too well-known to many parents, including this reviewer/parent of now grown children.Young Reece wants a pet, and he is open-minded. A dog a cat a rabbit even a hamster will do.But, alas, he receives a goldfish. Reece's parents believe that he needs to demonstrate that he can take care of a pet, properly. Though disappointed, Reece makes the best out. Wishes really can come true when magic is involved! Reece and Rusty will steal your heart! This is a cute book about friendship and wishes that came true. There is also fun word puzzles for kids to play that encourages literacy. Your kids will love this book!. Bookish said I like the story of Reece and Rusty. I like the story of Reece and Rusty, a magical pet who makes Reece's dreams come true. I love the message in the book about children's wishes and dreams. I also love the puzzles and the idea of building excitement for the next book in the series with the puzzles. I think that some of the words are a bit advanced and the pages are a bit long for early readers, but it is an excellent read aloud book with some nice lessons on responsibility and the magical power of friendship.
