I am familiar with this author, and his writing has only improved since this earlier endeavor. I am a writer myself (unpublished, thus far) so I tend to read with an overly critical eye. Again, this piece isn't technically perfect but it is rather enjoyable. Sometimes, you just have to let yourself be entertained.. I had the pleasure of reading The Adventures of Phineas Frakture on the website from which they are derived, and found them to be quite enjoyable. Joseph Gatch does a phenomenal job of vividly describing his vision for an alternate take on history where steam power reigns supreme and airships soar the skies. Gatch has created a very likable character in Phineas, and this book follows him through the course of four separate adventures compiled into one exciting novel. This Brought Out The Geek In Me Dear Readers,I wasn't sure if I should write anything about that bad "review" written by that other customer, because I don't think it was a review at all.I think that guy was just venting his frustration.I can understand this frustration as a reader and as a consumer. However, as a writer, I have to agree with some of the other people on here, who are maybe even Joseph Gatch's fellow writers from BigWorldNetwork, who say that authors reviewing authors is no big deal.
