Excellent choice for toddler story time. I loved Stanley the Builder! I tried this one out in story time recently and found it to be a great fit for my toddler group. The bold, well defined illustrations, the easy text, and clear story progression made this simple tale easy to follow and fun to look at. Stanley is quite charming, and his story of building a house for a friend was the perfect lead off for my construction themed story time. Vi the Vi3tBabe Very cute illustrations and and I liked how easy it was to read to my 3 year old. It was short and sweet. The illustrations were vibrant and crisp, yet simple and easily caught my child's attention. As far as picture books go, I really enjoyed this one for my child and I think any little one would get a kick out of this cute little hamster and his friends.I liked how the author showed Stanley helping his friend build his house step by step and how he finishes each book with Stanley coming home,
Luckily, his friend Charlie helps out too. He works step by step - from clearing the site with a bulldozer, to pouring the foundation to painting the finished house in Myrtle's favorite colors.
