Wayne Stan said A good book for the novice, butt. This is only available in Britan but is easy to get sent "over the pond". There are some things that are out of date and are not practiced in the US, but it's easy to tell which from which. Most of the info is really good. It is small in size and easy to carry in a pack or even a back pocket. If you like this, you might want to get a copy of "ditch medicine" also.
