1 Star From a Former Syracusan I did not finish this book. The story started out to be mildly interesting, but it is the victim of a lazy writer.The action takes place in Syracuse, NY. The author states that he attended Syracuse University, albeit some years ago. It astonishes me that, given this background, he cannot even spell the main street of the city correctly. It's Salina, not Salinas. And the Syracuse Police Dept. does not have precincts. I mean, how hard it is to check these things? It may sound like nitpicking, but i. A good attempt James J Robert C. Fleet attempts to captivate his audience with what could only be considered a good attempt. The story jumps to different conclusions and known truths with little actual “detective work" by the main character, Mark. Though he tries to make the character seem like an every man kind of character, Mark, lacks depth and any actual real character. It also seems like the author got bored at the end or just didn't know where to go after making a big business conspiracy and just decided no. great vacation book!!! This is a great vacation book: short chapters that move the story along make it easyto put down and pick-up as you go on airplanes, car trips to the beach, wherever.Best thing, though, is that you want to keep reading it. The main character, MarcCornell, pulls you along with him as he tries to find out who the woman was he sawmurdered - and why. Pretty basic story, but it's written in a style that constantlymakes you smile with its enjoyable noir rhythms, while the characters he meetsalong the wa
