DESCRIPTION:

"Good Textbook" according to Irish. Using this textbook for an introductory-level Power Systems course. Each chapter is prefaced with a journal article on a related topic. The chapters themselves are pretty-well laid out, with lots of examples and good logic flow. Haven't had an opportunity to work on many problems yet. Bought it new on Amazon.. Good information, terrible layout The topics are well explained, however the flow of the book is seriously interrupted by frequent references to other areas in the text. This means that halfway through an explanation or example you'll be flicking back through the text looking for some equation or list which is critical to the topic at hand. No page numbers are given for these references so you'll have to thumb through, scanning each page for (6.2.2) or similar, whilst trying to keep the intricacies of the Newton-Raphson met. Images in case studies are unreadable The technical content in this books is excellent. However, the printed quality of the case studies should embarrass the publisher. Each chapter in the book starts with a case study from another source. The case studies are relevant and interesting, but appear to be added with very little care or attention to quality. I've seen $20 paperback international editions with better quality images than in this book. Many of the images look like they were scanned by a drunken monkey, sent through a w
