DESCRIPTION:

"BSA Twin Restoration" according to William Litant. Not a must, but a great book for the owner of the BSA unit twin and the BSA enthusiast in general. The title is a bit deceptive - it's not really a "how-to" restoration guide, rather, it's a collection of information about the bikes. The chapters take you through each model's evolution and the book concludes with a wealth of appendices covering everything from serial numbers to carb. set-up. A great book for facts, figures and photos - just don't expect a detailed workshop guide. -Bill Litant, president emeritus, BSA Owners' Club of New England. moe said This book is ridiculous. I expect a book on restoration to give hard facts about the way the subject came from the factory. You know, close up detail of the minutia - colors, decals, paint patterns an exact look at hardware, materials etc. This book has none of that.It starts out by saying that the book was designed for people with experience so the author wont go into detail about how to actually do most of the work required, and then it has a great huge section on setting up a shop and tools and rambles on about all things anybody with some experience would already know. The book is utterly useless for . norton resto essential My shop is restoring four Nortons at the moment, and I regard this as one of the three important "background" books in my work (the other two are from Mick Woollett and Steve Wilson)-there isn't a lot of specific detail on surface finishes or overhaul procedures, which are available through British magazine articles and internet sites. You're supposed to have a service manual, anyway. Bacon has a lot of obscure detail in the text, for example his breakdown of the model changes by year, cylinder head numbers, camshaft data, and other specs in the data sheets at the back of the book
