Rick in Columbia, SC said Thoroughly enjoyable book.. This is a fascinating book. As many times as I've hiked to the summit of LeConte (16), after reading this book I realize how much I have missed. Mostly because I just didn't know to look, or what to look for. These guys have an encyclopedic knowledge of the history and flora of the area, and the trails themselves, and have woven it into a book that's hard to put down. I've been by the trail to The Jumpoff off The Boulevard tr. C. Parris said where is the fold out map. I love this book but am very disappointed there was no fold out map included. I started to order a used one for a few dollars less but chose to go with the new one because I was afraid the map would be missing in the used one and guess what it was missing in the new one. "Unique Book" according to William. I discovered this book one evening at the lodge on top of Mt. LeConte. Almost everyone in camp had gone to see the sunset. I remained in camp and started reading, interrupted only by a small black bear ambling through the wild flowers about 100 yards from our cabin.
