Atlas for some time and my old one was falling apart. For my purposes, the Nat. Geo. Atlas is far superior to my "A Superior Road Atlas" according to Robert A. Vanderkamp. Atlas is far superior to my 2010 Rand McNally Atlas. For example, I recently took a 11 day trip to West Virginia and visited many parks and wilderness areas. The 2010 edition is available Gregor Samsa The edition available through Amazon may be outdated. The 2010 edition is now available, but unfortunately it has the same cover as the previous edition. Unlike other publishers of road atlases, National Geographic does not emblazon the edition on the cover. You have to read the fine print inside the last page.. Traditional Atlas with a twist Lance W Doran I got this as a "filler" gift since I splurged on one big gift. I picked it up on the recommendation of wired magazine. It is a traditional Atlas, but hasa great section in the front with things to try. Since we're travelers, we were disappointed that we had already been to a number of the areas discussed. But the were placed that we added to our list, so a net positive overall. I'm glad I picked this up.
