Four Stars Pedro Burgos good. fine for the cities but lack of maps limits use for visiting the outdoors I found the competitor Rough Guide did not have enough good maps of all the fantastic outdoor walks and National Parks to allow me to adequately plan the TIME and SPACE of my upcoming Tawain holiday (see review of that)Thus I got this slightly older Lonely Planet guide book from the library to read through but it had exactly the same issue!Both guides had about the same number of pages and very similar descriptions. All fine is you are just visiting temples, museums and markets in the towns but if you want to visit the Yangmingshan volcano w. Bubbha said Concise and informative. I used this book on my recent trip to Taroko Gorge, and it proved a great source of valuable information. The book is well organized and informative, in a concise way. I also used it when temple-hopping in Taipei, and relished the informative descriptions of temple art.Only so much information can be placed within a limited page count, but this edition does a capital job of giving you the highlights and suggesting noteworthy places to stay, eat and and visit among myriad options.
