This book about the life and times of Jochen Peiper is a must for anyone interested in the man and the Leibstandarte.Printed on fine glossy paper the book is filled with excellent photos never seen before in some instances.The text is well written and has alot of personal recollections from the men who fought in this unit.As usual if you discuss this man the massacre at Malmedy will always come up, my own personal view is that no one will really ever know the truth, there is no doubt that unarmed American soldiers were shot and killed, . ELP said Good book. I recommend this book to any student of the Leibstandarte division. It has plenty of photographs on members of the motorized battallion as well as members of the Panzer Regiment. Is a very good reference to become familiar with the campaigns and the personalities of this well known German unit. It can also be recomended to anybody interested in armoured warfare but not to become the only book on the matter. Is a very good account and is interesting the aproach taken by the author to include the comments of the subordinates on their capa.
