Good Points But Poorly Written This book is a disappointment because of the way it is written. The material is not presented clearly. There are too many abbreviated explanations, poor sentences, and other lapses in exposition. Moreover the author assumes the reader is familiar with regression analysis and other statistical concepts. This book is most definitively not for the average reader. However some readers will upon at least some effort be able to pick up some gems of information not available elsewhere. These gems include:1. The earthshine series, or the amount of the earth radiation to the dark side of the moon, is th. Frederick S. Goethel said Some Good Books Available on the Role of Solar Activity in Connection with Climate Change, But This Isn't One. I will be the first to admit that solar activity is being linked with climate change more and more frequently, and there are some good books that touch on this subject, but this isn't one of them. It is poorly written and contains questionable material in the form of numerous graphs. As anyone who has had basis algebra or statistics can tell you, there are a lot of ways to play with graphs, which this author seems to love. There are numerous ways to fudge graphs to make your case or to shoot down an opponent's case. Whether that occurred here or not I cannot say, as I don't have time to play wi. "Misinformation & Misrepresentation" according to Elyon. Don't take my word for it: from the review in Choice: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries, December 2008" attempts to dispel the basic science linking atmospheric carbon dioxide to rising near-surface temperatures by presenting an argument for the sun as the dominant source of recent climate variations. Though the role of the sun in recent warming is not trivial and has been thoroughly investigated in the refereed scientific literature, Zyrkowski's effort falls far short of the proof needed to support the claim suggested in the title. The book is full of misinformation about climatology and

The report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says that, based upon computer models, increased solar absorption by CO2 and other greenhouse gases (GHG) are overwhelmingly the basis for temperature increases. Global temperatures have increased since 1880. But increases in global temperatures. New data show that solar impacts (radiation and magnetic flux) have increased by the same amount and follow the dips in temperature from 1938 to 1970
