College course textbook J. Foy I took an Engineering Materials class that used this book. The material itself is ok though better graphics and examples could be included. Covers topics such as iron/steel, wood, plastics, etc. A general survey book for engineering materials.. Five stars! I am surprised J. Foy's response was only three-stars. This is my first introduction to the topic of Engineering Materials, it is also a college textbook for me, but I can tell that this is an excellent book even though it's only my first introduction to the topic. Here's how I know why:This book is thorough in explanation, complete in mathematical representation, and brief in presentation.Thorough in explanation because it covers all of the most important aspects of materials science. Complete in mathematical representation because even though it isn't a "math heavy" book, it does not skip any of the . Quick delivery Informative book! This is the type of book to keep around for future reference in any type of industry career library.
