Children's Travelogue ruthjoec My Comments: I've enjoyed flipping through this charming set of children's books. The storyline is pretty much the same in all of them. They begin with a boy and a girl pointing out the country on a map. The capital city is identified (India's is New Delhi) and there is a picture of a major feature in the capital (in South Korea it is the Han River). Excellent Learning Experience Shirley Priscilla Johnson I have had the honor of reviewing Ms. Roman's wonderful series, 'If You Were Me And Lived In." This time my treat was learning about Turkey. We start off learning where Turkey is on the map, and what her Capital City is. We then begin our journey learning some interesting facts, such as, what the names of the children may be, what they would call their Mother and Father, and what some of the foods are they eat, and the journey has just begun.Although these books are not long they are packed full of information that child or adult would find interesting. Along with tha. Must have for children's library! MommysGoneShoppingAgain I really enjoy these books. They are a terrific way for your children or students to learn about other countries. They are written in a format that is easy to understand.Until I read the book, I never realized that Istanbul sits on two continents! The author does an awesome job writing these books. These are a MUST for any child's library or classroom.Thank you to the author for providing me with a complimentary copy of the book for my honest review!

"This volume would be a welcome addition to a preschool or kindergarten through third-grade classroom library and would also be valuable for parents who are planning a trip or are relocating to Turkeythis book is just the right length for the very youngest readers, who might be overwhelmed by any more details.Roman's children's geography picture books series is a successful new volume that entertains as much as it instruct." Foreword Reviews, Clarion Review     "In clear and simple language, Roman demystifies customs that many young readers may be hearing about for the first timeThe frequent use of "you" encourages children to imagine themselves visiting Turkey, which makes the book a good choice for early elementary school students studying geography or world culturesTake as a whole, Roman's series can help kids see that while they many have different names or eat different foods than do their peers in other countries, they have many things in common." - Kirkus Reviews
