"Godpretty in the Tobacco Field" is another book set in my home state and is filled with familiar 'southern' culture and speech that I didn't realized I missed after moving away some years ago. This author has the mastery of words that create visual scenes permitting the reader t. Linda Cullison said I enjoyed all the characters and I could imagine each one. It is rare that I write a review on a book although I read many! Most books are just okay or mildly entertaining. This book, however, was fascinating! I enjoyed all the characters and I could imagine each one. This is one of those books that you hate to put down and hurry to pick back up. Please keep writing!!. In spite of the hardships of the characters in the book, and the harsh living they endured, it ended up being a pretty good read.
