DESCRIPTION:

5 Passengers from Lisbon Like Mysteries -C One of Mignon G. Eberhart's very good book. Did not want to put the book down, until I got to the next page to see what was going to happen. The ending really surprised me. I can sometimes pick out "Who Done It" between two or three characters, but this one really was a shock. Ms. Eberhart's books are always a very good read. This may have taken place many years ago, but it kept my interest until the very end. Do read her books!!! Amazon pleasehave more of Eberhart's books on Kindle. Look forward to some of her first ones. They are priceless!!!!. "A good book set in the time just after WWII" according to Sheila P.. This book was written during the years immediately after WWII. It is not a period piece. Mignon Eberhart lived this time and wrote books that reflected it. It is very patriotic in nature, which I enjoyed. The plot concerns five diverse people leaving worn torn Europe at the end of the war. They take passage on a foreign freighter ship. Pretty basic accommodations. Two of the characters are a wealthy married couple who give up their wealth to buy their passage. They have a secret, which I won't reveal. One character is a young woman on the verge of love. Of course. She's back Finally, after so many years, I've got to read one of my favorite mystery writers again. Her books have been out of print for way too long. I believe this is the first time I've read this tome, and it was mighty good! It had me guessing (incorrectly, of course) who the murderer was. The book had a super surprise ending. Now, if only Phyllis A. Whitney books would be reproduced, I'd be even happier!
