"Enjoyed this book." according to Alexander Calder. Cute drawings. Sure, it's a replay of 5 little monkeys. But it works, and my daughter loved it. And I enjoyed the illustrations.. We are living in a society Chuck Taine First I should say that the illustrations are fine. But the text is awful. Not only is it a ripoff of "Five Little Monkeys" but it doesn't even rhyme. Is it so much to ask for the story to rhyme?My kids like the story but they are not the most discerning.. Cute drawings but awful to read aloud if you have any sense of rhythm. I'm giving it two stars simply because I always enjoy Laura Bryant's illustrations, but reading it aloud is painful if you have any sense of rhythm. As another reviewer pointed out, it doesn't rhyme consistently. It would be fine if the author (Steve Metzger) chose to not rhyme at all, but he does try to rhyme some of the time.
