Fanny is insufferable! CSB I've enjoyed many of Edna Ferber's books- " Show Boat" being my favorite by far. " Fanny Herself" is an early work, in which Ferber uses her own experiences in business in the early part of the century. Ferber started off as a newspaper journalist, while in this book. I picked Edna Ferber as one of the authors, hoping that I would be able to relate better to a female author. I was at first skeptical about the book, because I'm not a big fan o. Couldn't put it down! Up all night immersed in Fanny's world-and what a world! The characters came alive and their stories were gripping and human.
