Ley writes in a casual, friendly style, as if he’s just having a conversation with you. This isn’t a book that sets out to prove its points with piles of detailed research. However, Ley easily references current research without getting bogged down in technical details. There is a list of sources in that back that you can use to delve deeply into the science or completely ignore. A fun bonus feature is the scattering of petro-por. "A Great Read for Helpers, Users, and the Porn-Curious" according to Melissa. Let me start by saying that I'm a therapist and I work with individuals and couples. The topic of porn almost always comes into the conversation, and often it's a male client feeling ashamed by his use of it. It was difficult for me to find good material that supported what I'd seen in research studies that normalized porn use among men and women, debunked beliefs that it *always* caused harm to relationships and the viewer, and painted female porn performers as traumatized and manipulated. This book addresses them all.One of the many things I liked about this book is its easy-to-consume size and layout. It's not a hu. Jessica C. said easy to read. Powerful, witty, easy to read, and isn't just for dicks. If you love a man, buy this book. If you are a therapist, this is a must read. Excellent resource to help reduce shame, promote sexual well being, and help guide those searching for sexual authenticity. Although written in a non-therapeutic tone, Dr. Ley's book provides a great framework for discussing porn use with clients and with the men we love.
