An Enthralling Follow-up to Chosen Different CMacLaughlin After having read and enjoying the first entry in this series, I wasn't sure what to expect from the second novel. Sequels often pale in comparison to the original. In this case, though, the sophomore effort far exceeded my expectations. It is clear that the author has developed an even richer understanding of this bizarro universe in which the existence of superhuman entities (Differents) threatens the status quo, even as their unique abilities improve society in myriad ways. The characters are colorful (if not a little dark), and the action sequences are hard-hitt. Great follow up installment The author was able to hold my interest, yet again. And now I wait for the next installment of the series. Gavin has grown and matured and is able to harness his powers in even different ways in this novel. You will be introduced to some new characters, not too many and reminded of some of the returning characters - all with their own brand of paranoia. It's a great read, a page turner and you are left waiting for more in this futuristic post-apocalyptic world.
