DESCRIPTION:

"Read this book!" according to non-techie. As an ALF administrator in a facility specializing in brain injury rehabilitation, I can say that the approach which Ms.Bodziak advocates is absolutely correct! It can be very difficult for people accustomed to a medical model of treatment to adapt to an ALF approach, but Ms. Bodziak manages to bridge the gap easily and take us with her. The strategies she relates promote dignity and independence for the person with dementia, while helping those who are caregivers understand the basis for the difficult behaviors they must learn to deal with. Unlike many books dealing with . but this book has helped me to better understand and help my friend James Spellman I have found this book full of parcticle information "Hands on".I have been living with a person who is now entering Dementia, what stage I'm not always sure, but this book has helped me to better understand and help my friend, and help myself as well. I don't think that there is an all to book of dementia information but this sure has helped.I am looking forward to any more informayion in this area that Julia has to write about. Keep them coming Juliathis was great. and thanks.. WT said A must read for any caregiver. What a great book. It sure helped to better care for mom and dad as they both went through dementia. It sure helps you understand you can't cure them so learn how to make the best of it for both them and you.
