Our lab project will be building an electric motorcycle, and a pickup truck. This is one of several books on the subject that helps me get the subject organized and clearly described. Since the state of the art is changing so rapidly, it's important to have written material that is fairly current and this book is pretty good in that regard. There really is no single stand alone reference for this subject so I woul. "EV conversion for average people" according to Edward T. King. While I would have liked to have a book on converting VW vans, I purchased this book for its step by step treatment of the EV conversion process. Ken Watkins takes one step by step in the conversion of a few of the more likely American models that can be converted. He discusses the reason for his choice of the vehicles and while he acknowledges that one can use a kit that includes the conversion adapter plate, he explains in detail how one might make said plate yourself. That alone was worth the cost of the book.. Great Book! Ken Watkins This Electric Vehicle book was great for me, a beginner, because it has hundreds of pictures and it is written in understandable common language. I would recommend it to everyone.
These full size pictures make the book cost more, but add so much more to the level of information included.. You can see how some decisions led to some not so desirable results.
